Susan Mogelin

A gift of oil paints at an impressionable age sparked Susan’s love of colour, texture, form and function.  Formal education included Settlement Studies and Fine Art at the University of Guelph, however, the luxury of painting was unattainable as life moved on.  A decision to leave business ownership and a busy life in the south has provided an opportunity to rediscover the joy of messing about with paint.  Susan has studied with Linda Bester, Bonnie Steinberg, Haliburton School of Fine Art and has benefitted from the mentorship of Studio XX  and Peter John Reid in Owen Sound ON.  Most of her work is representational and/or impressionistic.  Recently, the multiple curved shapes of canoes and kayaks have been landing on her canvasses.  Susan’s work has been selected for juried art exhibits at the Tom Thompson Art Gallery in Owen Sound, Southampton Art Gallery, the Meaford Hall Galleries and the Desmond Juried Art Exhibition, in Ridgetown, ON.  Her work has been shown at the MacDonald Stewart Art Gallery, in Guelph, and the BMFA in Collingwood, ON. Susan is currently a member of the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts and the Wasaga Artist groups.
