Mary Anne Gough
Born in Toronto, Mary Anne spent her childood in the Southern United States, returning to central Ontario as a teenager. Most of her adult life has been spent in rural Simcoe County, often living on farms and hobby farms shared with a variety of animals.
Like most women, Mary Anne was a busy multi tasker, as a mother with a career as a physiotherapy assistant. She had a passion for creative thinking and satisfied that desire during a mid-life return to full-time art school – at both Georgian College School of Design & Visual Arts; and the Ontario College of Art & Design. Following graduation, she and her husband established a busy design and advertising business. Sixty to seventy hour work weeks didn’t allow much time, so Mary Anne puther fine art aspirations aside, promising she would someday “get back to it”.
Retirement has allowed her to take those art supplies off the shelf and explore her love for fine art once again. She works in oils and pencil and focuses on people, children, and animals enjoying everyday activites.
