Mary Lou was born in Owen Sound, Ontario but grew up in the Chatsworth area. After living for many years in Oshawa,  she now lives in Wasaga Beach, and is an “almost” retired Occupational Health Nurse. She did oil painting before she had her children and recently returned to her brushes and canvas as a student with Michelle Fleming, at the Bay School of Art in Collingwood, Ontario.  Inspired by the world around her, her canvasses are filled with objects, landscapes and still life examples that have roots in her own travels and experience.  She is the founder of Seven Oaks Studio in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, and can be found at www.sevenoaksstudio.ca. Mary Lou paints under her maiden name M.L. Wheildon.
